Streetz Ahead was founded by Elizabeth Lahav in 1995. her aim was to teach dance and to expose the hidden talents of young people. She started with six children and now there are over 5000 children that have experienced the magic of dance.
The vision of the company is simple but powerful. The aim is to teach as many young people as possible, with a programme of dance which encourages self awareness, develops creativity and raises confidence, ultimately giving young people a feeling of self-belief which will be with them always.
The success of the project and the high level of interest and enthusiasm shown by the children, now culminates in three large scale productions annually.
As the company's main objective is to give more young people access to the service, it has pledged itself to maintain affordable class prices, affordable tickets for each performance and accompanying merchandise.
Streetz Ahead has received funding from local organisations including The Tottenham Grammar Foundation, The Scarman Trust, NDC and Haringay Council
